Mark Mowers

Mark Mowers ( born February 16, 1974 in Decatur, Georgia ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who during his active career, among other things for the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins and Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League as well as for Fribourg - Gottéron and the SC Bern in the Swiss National League A was active.

Career

Mark Mowers began his career as a hockey player with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, for which he was active in the 1993/94 season in the United States Hockey League. He then played four years for the team from the University of New Hampshire, before he received a contract with the Nashville Predators on 11 June 1998 as a free agent. For Nashville, the attacker was in the following four seasons in the National Hockey League on the ice. During this time he ran in parallel for their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League, and - after their breakup in 2001 - in the American Hockey League on. In August 2002, the Americans moved to the Detroit Red Wings, but he played in his first season in their franchise exclusively for their AHL farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The lockout of the NHL season 2004/ 05 bridged Mowers in Europe, where he stood for the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Elitserien and Fribourg- Gottéron from the Swiss National League A on the ice. Following the resumption of gaming operations in the NHL the right shooter returned to Detroit. There he also played only one season long as then in their league rivals the Boston Bruins. The 2007/08 season began Mower at the Anaheim Ducks, was in the course of the year, however, obliged by the SC Bern of the Swiss NLA. Also in the 2008/ 09 season he remained in Switzerland, where he ran aground on his former club Fribourg- Gottéron. After the season 2010/11 the Americans ended his active career.

Internationally

For the United States Mower participated in the 2002 World Cup, in which he finished in seventh place with his team.
