Mark Pederson

Mark Pederson ( born January 14, 1968 in Prelate, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, who played in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings. He was active for the Hannover Scorpions, Krefeld Penguins and Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

The 1.83 m wide winger began his career with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League before he was selected during the NHL Entry Draft in 1986 as 15th in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens.

First, the left gunner at the Sherbrooke Canadiens, a Montreal farm team was in the American Hockey League, used his first NHL bets graduated Pederson in the season 1989 / 90th During the following season the Canadians was transferred from the Canadiens to the Philadelphia Flyers, for whom he scored 20 goals and 30 assists in 84 games. With the Eagles won Pederson 2001 championship. Once again, the Canadians played a season with the Hannover Scorpions and then moved back to North America where he finished his career in 2005 with the San Diego Gulls in the ECHL.

After end of his career as an active player Pederson was employed as an instructor and was initially from 2005 to 2009 at the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL active as assistant coach. Subsequently, he was promoted to the 2009/10 season for head coach of the Dutch first division team Tilburg Trappers. In the course of the same season of Canadians also in charge of the Serbian national team at the World Championship Division I, which, however, the end of the tournament descent into Division II.
