Mark Ronson

Biography

Childhood

Mark Ronson's parents are Ashkenazi Jews and brought up her son in strict accordance with the teachings of the Torah. At the age of eight he moved from London to New York to his stepfather Mick Jones. This plays guitar in the rock band Foreigner, which brought Ronson early contact with music. In addition, Ronson was at times the daughter of music producer Quincy Jones, Rashida Jones, engaged and his sister Samantha Ronson is the hip- hop label Roc -A -Fella Records. During his studies at New York University he won in the New York club scene a name as a DJ and put any of these private parties by P. Diddy on. He is known for his genre-spanning selection of songs ranging from the New York hip-hop scene to the English rock scene.

Career

After the song Everybody Got Their Something Nikka Costa, he produced for, he signed a recording contract with Elektra Records. In 2003, his first album Here Comes the Fuzz, which although with numerous guest stars (including Nate Dogg, Ghostface Killah, The Roots, Sean Paul, Weezer, Mos Def and Q-Tip ) shines at the beginning but hardly sold. Subsequently, he produced numerous songs for artists such as Christina Aguilera, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Robbie Williams.

Along with his manager Rich Kleiman 2004 he founded the record label Allido Records as a subsidiary of J Records, which in turn is under Sony Music Entertainment. The first artist was commissioned under contract Rhymefest, who co-wrote the hit song Jesus Walks Kanye West.

In March 2006, Ronson released a cover of Radiohead's Just as a single, which was mostly played in England by numerous radio stations. A month later, the album version was released, which consists largely of cover versions of famous rock and pop songs.

In the fall of 2007 he worked with Daniel Merriweather, Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams. In particular, the collaboration with Winehouse proved to be extremely successful. Her album Back to Black rose in many countries up to the top of the charts and the single Rehab became one of the biggest hits of 2007. With Valerie they also had a common single hit, which was in the Netherlands even four weeks at No. 1. The singer got five awards in 2008 and Mark Ronson was awarded the Grammy for Producer of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The BRIT Awards 2008 he was awarded the prize for the best British solo artist.

Since 2010 he also published with his own band under the name Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. For the beverage company Coca -Cola in 2011, he composed the anthem of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
