Markaryd Municipality

Markaryd is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Blekinge County, the historical province of Småland. The main town of the municipality is Markaryd.

Geography

The municipality is located in the southwestern corner of the historic province of Småland on the border to Skåne and Halland. The valley is also the border between the flat farmlands of Skåne and the wooded countryside of Småland. This is dominated by deep forests and vast moors, which is broken up by lakes and streams. A portion of the community is reforested forest that was created on former pasture land that was once widespread here.
