Marko Kantele

Marko Kantele ( born August 24, 1968 in Heinola, Finland) is a Finnish darts player, who is currently in the PDC under contract.

Career

Time in the BDO

Kantele made ​​his debut at the World Masters in 1997 when he defeated Colin Monk in the first round, but lost in the second round Mark Day. Five years later, returned again, this time again defeated in the second round Ted Hankey. In his third appearance, he first defeated Bobby George and Remco van Eijden before losing in the second round against Martin Atkins. In the World Darts Trophy 2004 he was defeated in the first round Robert Wagner.

He qualified for the BDO World Championship in 2005 and won first in the first round against Tony O'Shea, but then lost to Simon Whitlock. In 2007, he reached the quarterfinals of the WDF World Cup, but failed to qualify for the World Cup itself.

Changes to the PDC

Kantele won the Finnish qualifier for the PDC World Darts Championship 2009 against Asko Niskala, making him the first Finnish representatives. He defeated in the first round Lourence Ilagan Legs 5-2 and then defeated Ronnie Baxter with 1:3 sets. After the tournament Kantele began at European tournaments start to collect money for the European money list.

Together with Petri Korte, he represented Finland at the PDC World Cup of Darts 2012, but lost the two in the first round of the Croatian team with 4:5. In 2013 Kantele could not qualify for the World Championship PDC itself.
