Geographical Location
Marktzeuln is a market town above the Unterrodach mouth, between the Kulbitzberg and Spitzberg, located in the northern part of Upper Franconia in the district of Lichtenfels and with the districts Zettlitz and Horb counts 1650 inhabitants. His historic settlement form after Marktzeuln is a typical nucleated village. It is considered one of the most beautiful half-timbered places franc at all. Ornate carvings and classic wooden structure adorns the narrow rows of houses in the village center. History
Marktzeuln, which counts about 1660 inhabitants, is a Thuringian- Franconian establishment in the mid-eighth century, one of the oldest towns on the Upper Main. The name Marktzeuln, cyl Coming from the Old High German, means thicket or bushes. Marktzeuln ( Cylen ) is therefore to determine the settlement on the banks of the thicket Unterrodach. Regular events
- Every second Sunday of the month will be held in place one of the biggest commodity markets around. Many Fierant prices of goods from fruit and vegetables to clothes to household goods and toys.
- On the feast of Corpus Christi and on the eve of the Musikverein Marktzeuln organized its annual day of brass music in the beer garden next to the club's music home.
- End of June, the Zeulner Freischießen called Marksmen at fairground shooting at the old home place. Popular this place is hard through his stock of old chestnuts that donate the visitors shadow. The gun club is building a wooden bridge over the Unterrodach be accessed through the visitors to the rides on the other side of the river for the outdoor shooting.
- On the second weekend in August (Friday to Sunday ) is organizing the volunteer fire department called Unterrodach hard on the idyllic island of love. This is located in the riverbed of the Unterrodach.
