Markus Ganahl

Markus Ganahl ( born February 12, 1975 in Vaduz ) is a former ski racer from Liechtenstein. The slalom specialist from 1998 to 2004 at the Alpine Skiing World Cup active.

First World Cup points won qualified carpenter on 21 December 1999 with rank 24 in the slalom in Kranjska Gora. His strongest seasons were 2000/2001 and 2001/2002, when he reached some placements in the top fifteen - including his best World Cup result, a 12th place in the slalom in Shigakogen. The World Cup 2001/2002 he finally finished a good 28th in the slalom discipline standings. He also tried his hand in the giant slalom, but never reached the final of the top 30 runners.

However, its good performance and could not connect, followed by a number of defaults and non qualifications. After the 2003/2004 season Mark Ganahl ended his skiing career.

Major events

Ganahl participated in three World Ski Championships ( Vail 1999, St. Anton St. Moritz in 2001 and 2003) and at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in part. At the Olympics he reached the 30th place in the giant slalom, his best finish at a World Cup was ranked 20 in the slalom in St. Anton am Arlberg 2001.
