Markus Keller (ice hockey)

Markus Keller ( born August 19, 1989 in Augsburg ) is a German professional ice hockey goaltender, who plays for Augsburger Panther in the DEL since 2013.

Career

Markus Keller began his career with 10 years at the Augsburg Panthers, for which he, with the exception of 3 years between the ESV King Brunn, went through the junior sections and until 2006 played at the "Young Panthers ". He then moved into the DNL team of the Krefeld EV. Through the years, he took his leave for missions with the U- teams and was regularly invited to competitions of the U18, U19 and later the U20 national team. For the season 2007/ 08 the left catcher went through a production license of the Augsburger Panther in the league for EC Peiting and completed for both the men's team as well as the Junior League team total of 17 compulsory games. A year later, Keller was obliged by league rivals polar bears Juniors Berlin and formed with Sebastian Albrecht the keeper team.

After the dissolution of the league team and the departure of Youri Ziffzer the Augsburg got the role of the back- ups behind Rob Zepp and got away with it on 4 September 2009 at its first use in a DEL game against the Kassel Huskies. In the same year he was awarded a mining license for the partner of polar bears - come and stood there as a representative for Kellen Briggs in goal - Dresdner Eislöwen. End of January 2010 he was loaned from the polar bear Berlin until end of the season, the Red Devils Bad Nauheim, but still retains its mining license for Dresdner Eislöwen. He played the next two years with great success for the Red Devils Bad Nauheim, where he was elected two times in a row at the best goalkeepers in the Oberliga West. Mid- April 2012, it was announced that the basement for the coming season 2012/13 from SC Riessersee from the 2nd hockey league was committed after Harti Wild announced end of his career.

After only one season at SC Riessersee it was announced that the basement as a backup goalie to his home club, the Augsburger Panthers replaced.

Internationally

Between 2006 and 2009, Keller took part in several international tournaments with the German U18, U19 and U20 national teams. Among other things, he played at the World Junior A Challenge in 2006 in Yorkton and Humboldt ( Canada ), as well as at the World Junior A Challenge in 2008 in Camrose ( Canada).
