Markus Marquardt

Markus Marquardt (born 1970 in Dusseldorf ) is a German opera singer ( bass-baritone ).

Life

Bass-baritone Markus Marquardt studied singing with Werner Lechte at the Robert- Schumann-Hochschule in Dusseldorf. His first engagement took him to the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where, he succeeded, among others, as Sarastro in The Magic Flute and as Colline in La Bohème.

In 2000 he became a soloist at the Semperoper in Dresden, where he became, among other things the Mozart repertoire with such roles as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Papageno in The Magic Flute and sang the major Italian trade games, such as Monterone in Rigoletto, Colline in La Bohème, the title role of Rigoletto and Leporello in Don Giovanni.

Successively established the artist as heroic baritone and celebrated, among other things as the Dutchman in Der fliegende Holländer at the Staatsoper Stuttgart successes.

He also sang alongside many other important roles, the title role of Nabucco, Gianni Schicchi and Cardillac, the lokanaan in Salome, the in Hansel and Gretel, the Monterone in Rigoletto, the Varlam in Boris Godunov, Hidilfus and Drago in Genoveva or Don Fernando in Peter Fidelio.

Markus Marquardt appeared at the Festival in Bregenz and Salzburg, at the State Operas of Munich, Hamburg and Stuttgart, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, in Amsterdam, at the Teatro alla Scala, at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, at the Vienna State Opera, as part of a guest performance the Vienna State Opera in Tokyo and at the Leipzig Opera.

In addition to his operatic works round appearances as a sought-after concert singer throughout Europe, the USA and South Korea his artistic profile.
