Marleen Barth

Marleen Barth ( born March 21, 1964 in Den Helder ) is a Dutch politician of the Partij van de Arbeid.

Life

Barth trained as a journalist and studied political science at the University of Amsterdam. She was a member of the Partij van de Arbeid and joined a union. From 1990 to 1997, Barth worked as a parliamentary reporter for the Dutch newspaper Trouw. From 19 May 1998 until May 23, 2002 Barth deputy was in the Second Chamber of the States General. Since 2008, Barth chairman of the GGZ Nederland, the Dutch trade association for mental health and addiction care.

Since 7 June 2011, Barth deputies in the First Chamber and the successor of Han notes chairman of their group. Barth is married to the politician Jan Hoekema, who is mayor of Wassenaar since 2007, and lives with him in Wassenaar.
