Marlies Oester

Marlies Oester ( born August 22, 1976 in Adelboden ) is a former Swiss ski racer.

The Swiss Sports Aid Foundation drew Marlies Oester as a junior athlete of the year 1995.

In the slalom success of Sonja Nef in Sestriere in January 1996 Marlies Oester occupied surprising second place. In 1997, she confirmed this result with a second place in Bad Kleinkirchheim ( behind Claudia Riegler ).

Following, however, could not confirm these services. Chance realized Marlies Oester also respectable results in the combination and in the giant slalom. Only in the winter of 2001 /02 they could to their previous performance to tie, as a career highlight, she realized her first World Cup victory in the slalom in Berchtesgaden before Kristina and Janica Kostelic Koznick.

After this victory, she was good but only at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and at the 2003 World Championships in St. Moritz in combination for two surprises. The fourth in Salt Lake City, they left a third in St. Moritz follow. In 2005, she ended her career.
