Maronne

The Valley of Maronne in Saint -Paul -de- Salers

The Maronne is a river in France, which runs in the regions of Auvergne and Limousin. It rises in the Monts du Cantal, on the northern flank of the Roc des Ombres, in the municipality of Saint -Paul -de- Salers. It flows in the upper reaches through the Regional Nature Park Volcans d' Auvergne, is then dammed and drained several times generally west to southwest direction. The Maronne ends after 93 kilometers south of Argentat as a left tributary of the Dordogne. It passes through on their way to the Cantal and Corrèze.
