Marouane Fellaini - Bakkioui (born 22 November 1987 in Etterbeek ) is a Belgian footballer of Moroccan roots, which is currently before the English Premier League club Manchester United under contract and is active in the Belgian national team.

Childhood

His father, Abdellatif ( b. 1948 ) emigrated in 1972 from Morocco and went to Europe. He was football player and wanted to sign for Belgian club KRC Mechelen. The change failed because of the consent of his former club Hassania d' Agadir. Abdellatif Fellaini remained in the subsequent period in Belgium and ended his active career in order to be active in the Brussels area as a bus driver at the Brussels transport company. In 1987 came Marouane Fellaini in Etterbeek born and raised in the Brussels countryside.

Career

In the club

Fellaini learned to play football in the youth of RSC Anderlecht. His professional career began in 2006, however, at Standard Liege. In this club he became a fixture in the coming years and won in the 2007/ 08 season, the Belgian championship. This was the first of Liège championship in 25 years. Due to his performances this season Fellaini took third place in the selection of Belgium's Footballer of the Year.

After the season, he joined for £ 15 million for five years to England to Everton. This was a new transfer record in general for both Everton and for a Belgian player. For the first time he ran for Everton on Matchday 4 of the season 2008/ 09 on the 3-2 win against Stoke City. His first goal in the Premier League he scored in a 2-2 draw on Matchday 7 against Newcastle United. In the match against Manchester United on 9 Matchday his goal secured the Toffees a point.

On September 2, 2013 Fellaini joined on the last day of the transfer period within the league for 27.5 million pounds sterling ( approximately 32 million euros ) to Manchester United.

In the National Team

In 2007 Fellaini took part with the Belgian team at the U-21 Football Championship in the Netherlands and reached the semi-finals with his team. He ran in a total of three games of his team, but missed the game against the Netherlands, after he had seen the yellow and red card against Israel after 18 minutes.

Also in the fourth place of the Belgians at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Fellaini was in the squad. Here, however, he only played a game and got a yellow- red card against Brazil in the remaining matches of the Belgians no longer used.

In the Belgian national team, he has developed over time to an alternative in midfield and came both in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and EURO 2012 are used. He never could with Belgium win more than four games and missed thus both tournaments with participation.
