Marseille Metro
The Marseille subway opened in 1977. The second subway line was added in 1984.
History
1977 the first 6.3 km long section of Line 1 between La Rose was - Technopole de Chateau- Gombert and Saint -Charles completed. The line was extended in 1978 through the 3 km long section between Saint- Charles and Castellane. 1984, the line was opened 2. They went first to a length of 3.3 km between Castellane and Joliette. At both ends of this line was extended to the distances between Castellane and Sainte -Marguerite and Dromel Joliette and Bougainville. These extensions together measure 5.6 km. In 1992, the piece between Castellane and La Timone line 1 was added to the south, which was extended in 2010 to La Fourragère.
The line network
Marseille has two subway lines:
- Line 1 La Rose - Technopole de Chateau- Gombert ↔ La Fourragère
- Line 2 Sainte- Marguerite Dromel ↔ Bougainville
The Marseille Metro system has a length of 19.3 km and 30 stations. The trains are 5 bis 21 clock clock in the 3 - to 5 -minute intervals in use. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, a metro train to 0:30 clock. A ride on Line 1 takes approximately 19 minutes on the line 2 around 16 minutes.

There are 30 stations, two of which act as interchange stations: St- Charles and Castellane.

New track projects
Provided, but not yet decided is a further extension of line 2 on the current southern terminus of Ste -Marguerite addition to Saint- Loup Pagnol.
