Marshall Curry

Marshall Curry is an American film director and documentary filmmaker.

Curry grew up in New Jersey in Summit. In 1988 he graduated from Summit High School and in 1992 he graduated from Swarthmore College in "Comparative Religions". Curry was a Jane Addams - Fellow in Philanthropy at Indiana University. Prior to his work as a documentary filmmaker Curry worked as an English teacher in Guanajuato in Mexico and for the public service radio.

For his first documentary Street Fight Curry was nominated in 2006 for an Oscar in the category " Best Documentary ". His film If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front in 2011 was nominated for an Oscar in the same category.
