Martha Kyrle

Martha Kyrle ( born sharpening; born April 17, 1917 in Vienna) is an Austrian physician and philanthropist. A long-time President and Protector of the Austrian Committee for UNICEF It is especially active for sick and disabled children. The daughter of the Federal President Adolf Scharf served during the tenure of her widowed father from 1957 to 1965 as First Lady of Austria and was the occasion of the US-Soviet summit meeting in Vienna in 1961 hosted by Jacqueline Kennedy and Nina Khrushchev.

After training as an actress Martha sharpening graduated in medicine and married the doctor and university professor Paul Kyrle. Her older son, Johannes Kyrle 's ambassador and as Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the highest ranking officials in the Austrian Foreign Ministry. The younger son Paul Alexander Kyrle is University Professor of Internal Medicine at the General Hospital Vienna.
