Marthemont
Marthemont is a commune in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of the canton of Nancy and Vézelise. With 45 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) Marthemont is one of the smallest municipalities of Lorraine.

Geography
The community Marthemont in the north the landscape Saintois located 17 kilometers southwest of Nancy and 17 kilometers south-east of Toul. The 2.17 km ² comprehensive municipality extends on both sides of the Ruisseau de la Prairie, a stream which drains to the Madon. The small village lies in a valley opening to the northeast and is surrounded to the south and west by the more than 100 meters in altitude rising slopes of a plateau. On the wooded plateau ( Bois du Fey ), the municipality has a small share. Area Marthemonts is characterized by fields, pastures and orchards.
Neighboring communities of Marthemont are: Maizières in the north, Thélod the east and south, Germiny in the southwest and Viterne in the West.
History
The Church in Marthemont was built in the 18th century instead of the old Romanesque church from the 12th century.
In a corner outside the church there is a sculpture that dates from the 16th or 17th century.
Demographics
The small population of the municipality Marthemont remained almost constant since 1962.
Economy and infrastructure
The inhabitants of Marthemont are employed in agriculture ( farming, husbandry, fruit growing ). Marthemont is thus one of the few originally acting farming villages in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle.
Transport links
The community Marthemont is a little off the national transport lines, it is connected via a connecting road with neighboring communities Thélod and Viterne. Near Viterne is connected to the highway D 331 Neufchâteau off the Autoroute A31 ( Beaune- Luxembourg) with Ludres off the Autoroute A330 connects ( Vandoeuvre -lès -Nancy- Richardménil ).
