Martin Albrechtsen

Martin " Dolph " Albrechtsen ( born March 31, 1980 in Værløse ) is a Danish football player. He is currently at FC Midtjylland in the Danish Superliga under contract, for Denmark, he played four times in the National Dress. His younger brother Jacob Albrechtsen plays for FC Copenhagen.

Career

Association

Albrechtsen began his career with the club Akademisk Bold. Together with Peter Lovenkrands he played there, both were appointed at the same time for the Danish U-19 national team. In February 1998, both signed their first professional contract. Albrechtsen won the 1999 Danish Cup, and was honored in 2000 for the Danish U-21 Talent of the Year. For the Danish national football team, he was nominated by Morten Olsen in April 2001. In January 2002 he moved to FC Copenhagen, where he signed a four -year contract. In Copenhagen he won in 2003, the championship title and the following year the Double.

In June 2004 he moved abroad for English club West Bromwich Albion have played in the Premier League. After four years at West Brom, he moved free transfer to Derby County, where he wrote for two seasons, but only one season remained.

Since 2009 he plays in Denmark for FC Midtjylland.

Trivia

Albrechtsens nicknames are Dolph He-Man and due to its similarity with the Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren.
