Martin Annen

Martin Annen ( born February 12, 1974 in train ) is a former Swiss bob pilot.

After a short but successful career oscillation (21 wreath gains) and awards in the Swiss National Gymnastics led him his athletic versatility 1993 bobsledding. He started as a brakeman in the team of Marcel Rohner and in the season 1996/97 Dominik Scherrer. Then he graduated from the bob in St. Moritz and founded as helmsman own bobsleigh team in the two - and four-man bobsleigh. It succeeded Annen, to continuously work on the top. As his biggest successes, he was able to celebrate the bronze medal in the two- to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and two-time overall World Cup victory in the 2001/ 02 season.

After winning the European Championship title in 2006 in the four-man event he won at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in both categories the bronze medal. His team on the ice track of Cesana included as a brakeman Beat Hefti of Appenzell in twos and in addition the Geneva Cédric Grand and the Berne Thomas Lamparter in the four-man event.

Because of a disagreement with the Swiss Bobsleigh Federation over the size of sponsor advertising on Bob Annen has decided to compete for financial reasons in the 2006/07 season only in national competitions and to dispense with the upcoming World Cup. After winning the title at the Swiss Championships on 6 and 7 January 2007 Annen has withdrawn from the race. In his last race, he has independently prepared by the Association and has competed with one held in the red color of his sponsor Victorinox sled.

The trained cheese maker is now working as an innkeeper and lives with his wife Cornelia and his three children in Arth SZ.
