Martin Bergvold

Martin Bergvold (born 20 February 1984 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player. He currently plays as a midfielder for FC Copenhagen.

Association

Bergvold began his career at small clubs like Club Rødovre Bold and Boldklubben Avarta. Then he went to Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, the reserve team of FC Copenhagen. Bergvolds professional debut took place in December 2002 for FC Copenhagen. He won the Danish championship with this team in 2003. His first goal for Copenhagen, he scored in the following season 2003/ 04, as his team was champion again. In the season 2005/ 06 Bergvold became a regular player of the recent master Copenhagen.

In January 2007 he moved to AS Livorno, with which he was against Fiorentina on 28 January 2007, his Serie A debut. After over three years in Livorno, where he secured during the 2008/09 season for the first time a regular place, he joined in August 2010 back to FC Copenhagen after his contract was not renewed at the Tuscans.

National

He played - mostly as captain - for almost all youth national teams of Denmark and was in 2000 awarded by the Danish Football Association as the best football player under 17 years. In May 2006 he took for the Danish under-21 national team participated in the 2006 European Championship in Portugal, where he was part of the starting lineup for all matches in Denmark.
