Martin Cooper (inventor)

Martin Cooper ( born December 26, 1928 in Chicago) is an American electrical engineer. He is considered the father of the mobile phone.

Cooper studied at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is CEO and founder of ArrayComm. Previously, he worked at Motorola in research and development. Cooper made ​​on 3 April 1973 the first call for a developed and built at Motorola mobile phone prototype with which he called his rival at Bell Labs. On October 17, 1973, he filed his patent (No. 3,906,166 ) for a Radio-/Telefon-System, issued on 16 September 1975. It can thus be regarded as the inventor of the modern mobile phone.
