Martin Denny

Martin Denny ( born April 10, 1911 in New York; † 3 March 2005 in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii ) was an American jazz pianist.

Denny was particularly influenced by Cal Tjader. He is considered the greatest artist and co-inventor of Exotica - style, which he enriched with human generated birdsong.

Martin Denny had with Les Baxter's Quiet Village 1959 a top 2 hit in the U.S.. In the same year, his album Exotica was the top one on the LP charts. To his band were Julius Wechter and Arthur Lyman, the solo careers started later. Denny lived in Hawaii.
