Martin Dobrizhoffer

Martin Dobritz Hoffer ( born September 7, 1717 Friedberg, Bohemia or September 7, 1718 in Graz, Styria, † July 17, 1791 in Vienna, but also Martin Dobrizhofer ) was a Jesuit missionary and the pioneers of modern anthropology.

Dobritz Hoffer occurred in 1734 in Vienna in the Society of Jesus, who sent him in 1748 as a missionary to Paraguay. In 1768 he returned to Vienna, where he worked as a priest. 1784 appeared to be written in classic Latin work " Historia de Abiponibus " about the history and culture of Paraguay.
