Martin Earley

Martin Earley ( born June 15, 1962 in Clonsilla, Dublin ) is a former Irish cyclist.

1978 Martin Earley won the Tour of Ireland Junior. In 1981 he finished the Shay Elliott Memorial square one and Rás Tailteann in 1982. In 1984 he started in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles and was 19th in the individual road race. The following year he turned professional and won the 14th stage of the Giro d' Italia. He was next to Seamus Elliott and Stephen Roche, the third Irishman, featured on the list. Earley started in the episode eight times in the Tour de France. In 1989 he won the eighth stage and with the team of PM Concorde the overall team classification ( with, among others, Steven Rooks and Sean Kelly). In the same year the team also won the team classification of the Tour of Ireland. In 1994 he was Irish champion in the road race; Earley also decided the Tom Simpson Memorial for itself.

Today Earley works as a physiotherapist and cycling coach, as such he is responsible for, inter alia, the Irish mountain bikers Robin Seymour and Tarja Owens.
