Martin Grabmann

Martin grave man ( born January 5, 1875 in Winterzhofen / Oberpfalz, † January 9, 1949 in Eichstätt ) was a German dogmatic theologian, philosopher and historian. Of great importance are his research on medieval philosophy and theology.

Martin grave man visited the Humanistic Gymnasium in Eichstätt and studied 1893-98 at the local Episcopal Lyceum philosophy and theology. He received priestly ordination in 1898 and spent two years as chaplain in Kipfenberg, Allersberg and Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. Then grave man sat in Rome on " Thomas Group" of the Dominicans continued his studies, where he was supported by Franz Ehrle and Heinrich Denifle. It was built in 1901 for Dr. phil. and 1902 to Dr. theol. doctorate. In the fall of 1906 grave man was associate professor of dogmatic theology at the Episcopal School in Eichstätt and 1913 full professor of Christian philosophy at the Faculty of Theology in Vienna. From 1918 until the abolition of the Faculty of Theology in 1939, he taught dogmatic theology in Munich and settled in May 1943 to Eichstätt.

Grave man operation extensive source research on the philosophy and theology of the Middle Ages and wrote basic works on scholasticism. In 1954, the " grave man Institute " to the study of philosophy and theology at the University of Munich by Michael Schmaus, the successor 's grave, was founded.

In the cities of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz and Eichstätt, respectively streets have been named in honor 's grave.
