Martin Koolhoven
Martin Koolhoven ( born April 25, 1969 in The Hague, Netherlands ) is a film director, screenwriter and actor.
Career
Koolhoven attended the two film schools, one in the Netherlands, one in Belgium and later moved to the Dutch film And Television Academy.
He began in 1993 with the short film Chess and turned two years later another short film titled Koekoek! .
In 1996 he published the short film De Orde The things, which was also his final project at the Dutch Film Academy. The first film after graduating from the Dutch Film Academy was in 1997 for the Dutch prize " Golden Calf" nominated film light Duister, two years later (1999 ) was followed by the TV film Suzy Q.
His feature film debut was the film released in 2001 Amnesia.
International 2005 he was by the movie Schnitzel Paradise ( Dutch: Het Schnitzelparadijs ) known as the Schnitzel Paradise appeared in the international version. The film was at the Dutch Film Festival with a Golden Calf, bem Skip City International D-Cinema Festival awarded with Best Screenplay and at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in the " Comedy Film Honor " and "Film Discovery Jury Award".
In the same year also appeared in the film Knetter, who started off in Germany under the title Bonkers and internationally under Bonkers in theaters. The film received several national as well as international film awards, including the " Audience Award" from the Dutch Film Festival.
In 2008 he turned the movie Oorlogswinter, which was also known under the English title Winter in Wartime and was nominated in 2009 for the film awards Oscar and Satellite Awards 2009. The film received national as well as international awards, including the Golden and Platinum film, Netherlands in the gold and platinum category, as well as prizes at the Netherlands Film Festival, the Rembrandt Awards and at the Rome Film Festival.
