Martin Koukal

Martin Koukal ( born September 25, 1978 in Nové Město na Moravě ) is a Czech cross-country skier.

Career

Koukal was able to celebrate in the junior age his first successes. At the Junior World Championships in 1997 in Calgary, he finished the 30 km freestyle in second place. He was a year later confirmed at the Championships in St. Moritz, as it's over 10 kilometers in the free technique also latched on to the silver medal this success.

He won the gold medal in the 50 km at the 2003 World Championships in Val di Fiemme. Together with Dušan Kožíšek he won at the 2005 World Championships in Oberstdorf bronze in the team sprint. In 2010 he won a complete surprise bronze medal in the relay of the Czech Republic at the Olympics.

Koukal is a member of Skinfit Racing Team.
