Martin Krampen

Martin staples (* 1928 in Siegen) is a German designer, artist and semiotician, he was a student and lecturer at the Ulm School of Design.

Life

Martin staples studied theology, psychology and art history at the Universities of Tübingen and Heidelberg, as well as painting in Florence. At the Ulm School of Design ( HfG ) he studied Visual Communications and graduated there in 1957 with a diploma. He later worked as a lecturer at the HfG. Next he studied at Michigan State University Psychology and Communication Studies, where he received his doctorate in 1962.

He held various professorships in design and psychology in the U.S. and Canada. From 1972 to 2005 he was a lecturer at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd. Martin staples since 1993 Honorary Member of the German Society for Semiotics.
