Martin Meichelbeck
Martin Meichelbeck ( born November 21, 1976 in Bamberg ) is a former German football player. He was preferably used as a central defender or as a left defender.
A native of Franconia Meichelbeck played as a teenager, first for the FC construction demand (until 1992 ), then for the first FC Nuremberg ( in the 1992/93 season ). The next stops were then the first FC Bamberg ( 1993-1996) and Jahn Forchheim (1996-1998 ). His professional career began in 1998 at second division SpVgg Greuther Fürth, for whom he played until 2000 before moving to VfL Bochum for a transfer fee of 650,000 euros.
For Westphalia Meichelbeck played from 2000 to 2008 a total of 89 games in the first Bundesliga, scoring four goals, just two games in the UEFA Cup and a game for the World Cup team in 2006 against Turkey. In addition there are a total of 79 second-division games in which he scored ten goals. With the VfL Bochum he rose twice in the 2nd league and from each directly back on.
Shortly before the resurgence Martin Meichelbeck extended his contract in early 2006 to 3 years up to 2009. For season 2008/ 09 VfL Meichelbeck left and was hired by his former employer, the second division club SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Since the beginning of the season 2010/11 he worked as a sport psychology coach for SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Since 1 July 2011, he directs in Fuerth the Medical / Sports Psychology.
