Martin Prokop

Martin Prokop ( born October 4, 1982 in Jihlava ) is a Czech rally driver. He won the 2009 title of the Rally World Youth Championship ( JWRC ). In 2010 he moved to the SWRC class. Also in the 2011 season Prokop returns to the World Rally Championship at the SWRC title at the start.

Career

After Prokop four years was active in the Czech Rally Championship, he gave in 2005 at the Monte Carlo Rally his World Cup debut. He started in the JWRC and finished the event on the ninth. At the end of this season, he finished the same rank in the Rally World Youth Championship.

In the 2006 season in the Rally of Catalonia he scored his first victory JWRC; the season, he finished with the tenth JWRC World Cup ranking. In 2007 he achieved two victories at the Rally of Germany and the Tour de Corse in the same class. Thus Prokop scored the third in the Rally World Youth Championship.

In the World Rally Championship in 2008, he moved during the season several times between JWRC and PWRC class and reached the third place in the JWRC and fifth place in the PWRC ..

In the season of the World Rally Championship 2009, he once again took part in both championships. Back in October, he secured the Junior World Champion title after he had taken the class victory in the Rally of Cyprus and the Rally Sardinia. In the PWRC, he finished at the end of the season second overall behind Armindo Araujo.

With the 2010 season Prokop moved to the SWRC. He was the first rider to win a special stage with a Super 2000 car. This year, he scored a third and three second places in the SWRC class.

In the World Rally Championship 2011, he will start again with a S2000 car. At the Rally Mexico he went, one with a ninth place overall, the first time championship points and his first victory in the SWRC class.
