Martin R. Dean

Martin R. Dean ( born July 17, 1955 in Menziken / Aargau ) is a Swiss writer.

Life

Martin R. Dean was born in Menziken as the son of a product originating in Trinidad physician of Indian origin and a Swiss. In 1976, he passed his matriculation examination at the cantonal school in Aarau. In 1977 he began studying German literature, philosophy and anthropology at the University of Basel. In 1986, he completed his studies with a Master's thesis on Hans Henny Jahnn novel Perrudja.

Over the years he made ​​numerous trips and lived a long time abroad, including in South America, Portugal, France, Greece and Italy. From 1990 to 1998 he taught at the School of Design in Basel, in 1992/93 he was city observer of the city train. Since 1999, he has taught the subjects German and philosophy at the high school in Muttenz.

Dean lives in Basel. In 1995 he married the German studies Silvia Henke, with whom he has a daughter.
