Martin Retov

Martin Retov ( born May 5, 1980 in Rødovre ) is a Danish football player.

Career

Beginnings in Køge

Born in belonging to the Capital Region community Rødovre offensive player Retov began his footballing career in the youth teams of Rishøj IF, which he reached in the youth department of the Køge BK. 1999 Retov moved on to the adult area of the Danish second division and came in this his first stakes in the professional sector. For Køge Retov completed 88 missions in the second Danish league, which he also had significant role in the rise of Køge in the first-class Super League after the 2001/ 02 season.

Retov at Brøndby

In the following season 2005/ 06 Brøndby reached again only the runner-up, one year later, the club finished the season 2006/ 07 even in sixth place in the table, so that for several years to qualify for an international competition was missed the first time. In the Royal League 2006 /07, however Retov won with Brøndby in purely Danish final against FC Copenhagen.

The 2007/08 season was then re- Brøndby disadvantage, so that the club eventually finished in eighth place in the final table. At the same time reached Brøndby but as Cup Winners 2007/ 08 - Retov scored in the 85th minute of the 3-2 winning goal - to qualify for the UEFA Cup. On 29 May and 1 June 2008 Retov also completed against the Netherlands or Poland, as his second and third use in the dress of the national team.

Move abroad

For the 2008/09 season Retov first moved with a contract until 2011 with the German Bundesliga FC relegated Hansa Rostock in the 2nd Bundesliga. Rostock paid an uncommitted transfer fee, which amounted to around one million euros according to media reports, of which € 850,000 were borne by the entrepreneur Carsten Maschmeyer, demanded the return of these funds later in court.

After Kim Madsen, David Rasmussen and Thomas Rasmussen Retov making it the fourth Dane, who in the club's history of FC Hansa moved to the Baltic city dwellers.
