Martin Studach

Studach Martin ( born May 17, 1944 in Küsnacht; † 24 March 2007) was a Swiss rower.

Martin Studach stepped into the footsteps of his father Eugen Studach, which was in the forties World and European champion in One. His international career started as a twenty- year-old at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Over the next three years, the double Martin Studach / Melchior guarantor dominated the scene in the double sculls at will. They were three-time world and European champion and won all the major races in this category. Martin Studach was successful in one and won major races in one, including the Diamond Sculls at the Henley Regatta traditional. In the Summer Olympics 1968 in Mexico City, he suffered a circulatory collapse at the pre-race and finished after his racing career.

In March 2007, he died on a ride in the double sculls of heart failure.
