Martin Ulrich

Martin Ulrich ( born December 16, 1969 in Vienna ) is a retired Austrian ice hockey player and current coach, who played during his career, including for the Adler Mannheim, Berlin Capitals and DEG Metro Stars in the German Ice Hockey League. Since October 2009, Ulrich has been head coach of the Austrian U18 national team.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender started his career at the Vienna EV, for whom he played until 1991 in the Bundesliga and he then left in the direction of EC Graz. On September 30, 2009 Martin Ulrich ended after 22 years in professional hockey his career. A week later was the ÖEHV known that Ulrich will oversee the Austrian U18 national team as head coach at youth level.

Internationally

For the Austrian national ice hockey team, where he last held also the captaincy, Martin Ulrich took a total of 17 times since 1991 to the world championships, he also played three Olympic Games ( 1994, 1998 and 2002). After the World Cup tournament in the Division I 2008 in Innsbruck, he said after 228 games for the national team of his resignation from it. Thus Ulrich behind Gerhard Unterluggauer (243 games, status February 16, 2014 ) is the second most in Austria.
