Martin Zawieja

Zawieja Martin ( born January 31, 1963 in Dortmund ) is a retired German weightlifter, who has worked as a trainer and manager of a sports promotion group in the German army today.

Life

Zawieja was from 1983 to 1992 athletes in weightlifting.

He won bronze in the 1988 Super Heavyweight ( over 110 kg) at the Olympic Games. In 1991, he took 3rd place in the World Cup. In the years 1984, 1990 and 1991 he was German champion in his discipline.

In 1993 Zawieja studied at the trainer academy in Cologne and made there in 1995 with a degree in coach in weightlifting.

In 1997 and 1999 he worked as a coach with the German champions AC Soest, 2001-2006 junior national coach and from 2002 to 2005 national coach of the women.

Since 1999 Zawieja is a lecturer at the Cologne Academy coach and since 2008 Lehrwart in the Weightlifting Federation of Baden- Württemberg. In 1994 he was elected Vice- Chairman of the Advisory Board of the assets. Until 2000 he was NOK board member and 1996 and 2000 athletes spokesman for the German Olympic team.
