Martina Bischof

Martina Bishop, born Martina Fischer, ( born November 23, 1957 in Berlin) is a former German canoeist.

The FIVB World Sportswoman of the SC Berlin- Grunau 1976 won their first East German championship title along with Marion Rösiger in double kayak. The championship was the two until 1979 to successfully defend in 1979 won the two in the four-man kayak together with Birgit Fischer and Roswitha Eberl. 1977 and 1978 won Martina Fischer and Marion Rösiger at the World Championships.

1979 married Martina Fischer canoeists Frank -Peter Bishop. Martina Bishop and Marion Rösiger in 1979 second in the World Championships. Then Rösiger has been removed due to contacts with the West from the East German cadres. For the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 formed Martina Bischof with Carsta Genäuß from Dresden a team. The two won the gold medal in Moscow. 1978 and 1980 she was recognized for her sporting achievements with the Patriotic Order of Merit.

After her career, she worked in their trained profession as a traffic clerk.
