Martine McCutcheon

Martine McCutcheon ( born May 14, 1976 in Hackney, London as Martine Kimberley Sherri Ponting ) is a British singer and actress.

Life

McCutcheon started her career with appearances in British television series. The general public, she was known for her appearances in the soap EastEnders. In 1999, their first single Perfect Moment on the market and debuted at number one on the British charts. You could achieve high chart positions with other singles from their debut album You, Me & Us. With the following albums they could not build on the success of their debut album. Outside of England, it was mainly through the film Love Actually ... known. She played theater in London. In 2012 she married her boyfriend several years, the eight -years-younger singer-songwriter Jack McManus. In 2013 she applied for insolvency.

Pop career

Published in 1999, McCutcheon under the label Virgin Records released their first single Perfect Moment. The ballad climbed to the amazement of the critics at number one on the UK Singles charts. In Italy, Israel, Switzerland and Ireland, the song was also a number -one hit. In the same year she released her debut album You, Me & Us with which they could occupy the second place in the UK album charts. Two more singles followed, I've Got You and Talking in Your Sleep. Both singles were able to reach the top 10 places. McCutcheon was awarded for You, Me & Us double platinum.

2000 McCutcheon released her second album Wishing. The album failed to meet expectations and finished only 25th place singles I'm Over You and On the radio the other hand, reached the places 2 and 7 Nevertheless, the management of Virgin Records was disappointed with the performance of their second album and announced a record deal. Two years later she brought out yet a third album Musicality. Due to the poor performance of her third album, their record contract was canceled again, this time by EMI.
