Martti Vainio

Martti Vainio Sakari ( born December 30, 1950 in Vehkalahti, Kymi ) is a former Finnish long-distance runner, the 1978 European Champion in the 10,000 - meter race was.

Career

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal were three Finnish runners on the 10,000 - meter course. While Vainio and Pekka Päivärinta could not qualify for the final, repeated Lasse Virén in both the 5000 -meter run and 10,000 m his Olympic victories of 1972.
