Marty Barry

Martin A. Barry ( born December 8, 1904 in Saint -Gabriel, Quebec; † August 20, 1969 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1927 to 1940 in the National Hockey League. There he was active for the New York Americans, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens.

Career

After a strong season with the " Montreal's Bell Tepehone team " brought Newsy Lalonde in 1927 to the New York Americans, but where he could not enforce properly. Only two years later in Boston he made ​​the breakthrough. From 1935 to 1939 he played for the Detroit Red Wings, with whom he was twice the Stanley Cup win.

After his NHL career, he became player-manager of the Minneapolis Millers in the AHA. In 1965 he was honored with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
