Maruha Nichiro

K. K. Maruha Nichiro Holdings (Japanese株式会社 マルハ ニチロ ホールディングス, Kabushiki - gaisha Maruha Nichiro Hōrudingusu ), listed on the Nikkei 225, is the world's largest fishing company. Main competitors in Japan are Nissui and Kyokuyō.

History

The holding company was founded in 2004 as K. K. Maruha Group Honsha (株式会社 マルハ グループ 本社) around the core company, founded in 1943 Maruha KK (マルハ 株式会社; until 1943 Nishi- Taiyo Gyogyo tosei KK (西 太平洋 渔业 统制 株式会社), until 1945 Taiyo Gyogyo KK (太平洋 渔业 株式会社) ) furnished. With the merger with K. K. Nichiro (株式会社 ニチロ) in 2007 the name was changed to KK Maruha Nichiro Holdings.
