Marvell Wynne (baseball)

Marvell Wynne I ( born December 17, 1959 in Chicago ) is a former American professional baseball player.

The center fielder started his professional career in Major League Baseball in 1983 with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1986, he moved to the San Diego Padres from 1989 to 1990, he played for the Chicago Cubs. He then played one year for the Japanese club Hanshin Tigers in the Central League.

Wynne won in 1989 with the Cubs the title of the Eastern Division, but lost to the San Francisco Giants in the National League Championship Series. He had his personal best season in 1984 when he set a new personal record in all statistics.

His son Marvell Wynne II was a professional footballer.
