Marvin Davis

Marvin Davis ( born August 31, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey, USA; † 25 September 2004 in Beverly Hills ) was an American entrepreneur and billionaire.

He was, according to estimates by Forbes as one of the richest people in the world with an estimated fortune of 4.9 billion U.S. dollars. Among the assets he came through, which was founded by his father, oil and gas exploration company Davis Oil Company and received it the nickname Mr. Wildcatter ( = American oil viewfinder).

In 1981 he bought with Marc Rich, the film studio 20th Century Fox and sold this in 1985 to Rupert Murdoch. He is the father of film producer John Davis.
