Marvin Hatley

Marvin Hatley ( born April 3, 1905 in Reed, Oklahoma, † 26 August 1986 in Los Angeles, California; actually Marvin Hatley Thomas ) was an American film actor, screenwriter and composer of film scores.

Life

Hatley came in the 1920s to Hollywood, where he first worked as an actor and screenwriter for Hal Roach. Later he wrote and composed music for numerous films and worked as musical director of the respective shooting. His most famous works are the soundtracks to films of the comedy duo Laurel & Hardy. Hatley was a composer of Dance of the Cuckoos (German: cuckoo dance), the 1930 in the short film Happy Childhood ( Brats ) was presented for the first time and was to become the theme song for the films of the comedy duo.
