Marwin Hitz ( born September 18, 1987 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper.

Youth

He grew up in free village in Arbon TG near St. Gallen, and was discovered at age nine in a Grümpelturnier from FC St. Gallen. After his commitment he was twelve years at FC St. Gallen under contract.

Career

Hitz rose at FC St. Gallen to the U-21 team in the first league. After the 2006/ 07 season he was loaned to second-division Yverdon -Sport FC and the winter break in the league rivals FC Winterthur. On 25 Round he came to a violation of Cristian Leite after half-time to his first professional use, and then completed the remaining nine Challenge League matches.

In the following season was Hitz again from the start in goal for the Winterthur before he was expelled after an emergency brake of the field on Matchday. A few days later, he was engaged as third goalkeeper of the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg Erstligakaders.

In his first year he came with the professionals of VfL not used and played only a few times for the second team in the Regionalliga Nord. In the 2009/10 season he became a goalkeeper and played 29 season games. After a red card suspension and later a längerwierigen violation of the number one, his Swiss compatriot Diego Benaglio, moved on to the pros. As the number two Andre Lenz, however, was also in poor health decreased 04 Leverkusen in the match against Bayer and undermined him an own goal, Hitz was on February 18, 2010 in the Europa League against Villarreal and a few days later in the game against FC Schalke 04 his club or league debut. Five top-flight, he played until the return of Benaglio and also in the coming season, he remained the first choice for the representation of his country 's goal. In February 2011 Hitz extended his contract with VfL Wolfsburg until June 2013.

After his contract expires, he left the club and joined the 2013/14 season to league rivals FC Augsburg, in which he signed a valid contract until 30 June 2016.

Marwin Hitz was Swiss youth international and played as number 1 of the U-21 national team.
