Marxist–Leninist Party of the Netherlands

The Marxist-Leninist Partij Nederland, MLPN, ( German: Marxist-Leninist Party of the Netherlands ) was a 1970-1980 existing Maoist- aligned political party in the Netherlands. The fact only about 20 -member party was organized in cells and could not afford an extensive public relations through financial support from China. Its general secretary Pieter BOUVE (aka Chris Petersen ) was a math teacher.

The former head of the Department of counterintelligence at the Dutch secret service, Frits Hoekstra, reveals in his book " In Dienst van de BVD " that the MLPN was founded by the secret service BVD, on with the aim of both an overview of the influence of Maoism to give students and intellectuals, and to obtain information about the geopolitical ambitions of China. The whole action was supported by the CIA, had the insight into all files and from "Operation Red Herring " said.
