Geography

Marx cell is located in the Alb valley and on the heights of the Black Forest.

The municipality is the union of the places Marx cell in Albtal and Burbach, Pfaffenrot and Schielberg on the surrounding heights and the hamlet of fishing ponds, stone Häusle and Frauenalb in the valley.

Community structure

The community Marx cell is composed of the former municipalities Burbach, Pfaffenrot and Schielberg. To the former belong the village Burbach Burbach, the settlement Marx cell, which lies partly in the field of the other two former municipalities, the homestead Metzlinschwander courtyard and the houses Fischweier and Weimer mill. For the former municipality Pfaffenrot include the village and the municipality Pfaffenrot parts Gertrudenhof. For the former municipality Schielberg include the village Schielberg, the places " Bergschmiede, Hotel ", the homestead Schlotterhof, the house stone Häusle and the hamlet Frauenalb.

History

The place Marx cell, and cell or Zeller mill was first mentioned in documents in 1255. At that time there was a mill of the monastery Frauenalb to which the site also belonged. After the Reformation, and the division of the state of Baden, Marx cell came in 1535 to the Baden- Baden line. When the monastery was restored in 1631, it was again given dominion over the place. As part of the media coverage due to the Imperial Diet Losing The monastery was dissolved in 1803 and the place finally came to the Grand Duchy of Baden. There it belonged first to the upper office Ettlingen and since 1937 for the district of Karlsruhe.

Traffic

Fischweier, Marx cell and Frauenalb each have a stop at the oldest overland line of Karlsruhe's rail system, Albtalbahn (line S1 Karlsruhe - Bad Herrenalb ). The stop Marx cell has a connection to the bus line 114 Albtal Traffic society.
