Mary Ann Nyberg

Mary Ann Nyberg ( born February 7, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, † 19 February 1979 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ) was an American costume designer who was nominated twice for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design.

Life

Mary Ann Nyberg worked for the first time at Lili (1953 ) by Charles Walters with Leslie Caron, Mel Ferrer and Jean -Pierre Aumont as a costume designer in the production of a film. She was 1953-1955 with at the costume outfit of only five films.

For her second film curtain! ( The Band Wagon, 1953), one staged by Vincente Minnelli with Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse and Oscar Levant Revue film, she was nominated at the Academy Awards in 1954 for an Oscar for Best Costume Design in a color film.

Her second Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design in a color film received Mary Ann Nyberg 1955, together with Jean Louis and Irene Sharaff for A Star Is Born (A Star Is Born, 1954) by George Cukor starring Judy Garland, James Mason and Jack Carson in the lead roles.
