Mary Bain

Mary Bain ( born August 8, 1904 in Hungary, † October 26, 1972 in New York City ) was an American chess player.

Mary Bain in 1937 in Stockholm, the title battle for the World Chess Championship Fifth of women under 26 participants, in advance of the World Chess Championship for women 1953, she already retired in 1952 from Moscow Candidates Tournament in 14th place out of 16 participants.

1951 Bain was U.S. national champion. In 1952 she was awarded by the World Chess Federation, the title International Champion of Women (WIM).
