Mary Browne

Mary Kendall Browne ( born June 3, 1891 at the Ventura County, California; † August 19, 1971 in Laguna Hills, California ) was an American tennis player.

Career

Her achievements in tennis were in the years 1912 ( win against Eleonora Sears ), 1913 and 1914, the successes in women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles at the U.S. Open in Newport. In the twenties of the twentieth century, they won in 1921 and 1925 again the doubles competition in Forest Hills and 1926, the women's doubles at Wimbledon. In 1957, the induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In addition to their skills in tennis, she was successful in golf. She was second in the 1924 U.S. Women's Championship.
