Mary Carew

Mary Carew ( born September 8, 1913 in Medford, Massachusetts, † 12 July 2002 in Framingham, Massachusetts, and after Marriage Mary Armstrong ) was an American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

From 1929 to 1932 she won four consecutive U.S. Indoor Championships over 40 yards. In the X. Olympic Summer Games 1932 in Los Angeles, she won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay along with teammates Evelyn Furtsch, Annette Rogers and Wilhelmina von Bremen before the team from Canada and the team from Great Britain.

At a height of 1.57 m her competition weight was 45 kg.
